ADOBE HAIKU
by Linda Malm
Dust my sandstone heart,
a hearth from ancient shorelines
stained by early dawn.
Cobwebs drift between
latilla puzzled pieces,
wind-downed aspen grove.
Ponderosa posts,
lightening twisted cedar trunk.
My roof now their crown.
Skylit straw flecked mud,
soft curves of mica twinkles.
earth shelter gloaming.
Friend's urban painting,
remembrance of harsh places
absent long vistas.
I polish the pond,
clouds, shaggy green hills, gardens ⎯
my picture window.
Blue delphinium
petals strewn on dark tile floor.
Good housekeeper.
