REFLECTIONS (RECENT) PAST AND PRESENT
By Robert Henssler
Hatred seen waving along the mall on the hill and across the way
Takin’ hold on one despicable day
when seeking retribution for words believed
words, just words uttered by some mindless man
meant to deceive
blaming all for problems seen
not realizing all here are for the dream
blaming war and fire storms on zeal
hardly real when power fomented from here
and underground yearning
gold in heaven brightly burning
unable to see one from another
all from different parts
all having separate mothers
all seeking goodness deep in their hearts
creations vision yet blinded words of hate
seminated words
hate from a mouth clearly he spake
seeded by hand laid with will
clearly intent ringing still
from the beginning of amber waves
at the foot of the plains
words did injure words did maim,
mortally fired the words they came
laying to rest, brothers in Christian eyes
souls that past
past the test
yet no regret, condolence or sorrow uttered
not a word to ease a wife’s mournful wail
a mad-man’s contempt sputtered
is all we heard
little more not a sound
just the White House Clamping Down.
