What the Bleep Rhymes with Orange?

by Laurie Bower

If you set out upon a literary forage,

you may find that nothing quite rhymes with orange.

Frustrating, to say the least,

a fickle, unruly beast!

You may think of things like porridge,

Or your depressed old boyfriend, Oren

Geez, it isn’t easy,

can even make you queasy.

What the bleep rhymes with orange?

Maybe there should be more ange-

elical intervention,

a temporary suspension

of the rules of orange-gagement

without the critics’ enragement,

allowing “almost” words like “storage”

or made-up words like “snorage,”

providing more and just better ways

to describe a tangerine haze.

But alas! there are TWO things that rhyme with orange;

a spore-producing sack called a “sporange”

And if all else fails

Theres a hill in Whales

That everyone knows as The Blorenge!
