Beach Kid
For Lynn
By Mary McGinnis
Born to bop along the shore, hiding
Easter eggs from your brother.
Along blazing sand your feet flew to
carry buckets of mischief.
Hands up toward
kaleidoscope of sky,
intermingled colors
dancing down to you.
Banana and blue.
Banana and blue.
Everyday,
an array of waves
couldn’t catch you.
How fast you ran -
kinda tired you’d slow down
into a
daydream round and soft with light.
