Las Vegas Lit Zine to Launch in 2025
Las Vegas Lit is developing a digital arts and literary journal with its first publication scheduled for Spring 2025. The Nothing Rhymes with Orange editor is accepting submissions of poetry and prose with an eye toward adding photos and images as the concept develops.
“Las Vegas Lit is a project of the Las Vegas Arts Council, dedicated to promoting the written word and connecting with readers of every age,” said Sharon Vander Meer, one of the founders of the group. “We will continue to have author and open mic events. The online literary magazine is one more way for writers to get their works before readers.”
Las Vegas Lit has published two books, Tapestry: Tales, Essays, Poetry, a collection of works by northeastern New Mexico writers, and Up from the Ashes We Rise, a book that in large part contains reflections on living through the Hermit’s Peak /Calf Canyon fires and living with the aftermath. Both books are available locally at Books of the Southwest at Rough Rider Antiques. The books are also available through the Las Vegas Lit Website www.lvlitnm.org, and through online retailers.
Submission guidelines and upload link for Nothing Rhymes with Orange may be found at https://lvlitnm.org/call-for-submissions-nrwo.
Submit your poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and essays for inclusion in this northern New Mexico-themed zine. The writer’s original item may be previously published but requires ownership rights or permission for republication.
This is an open call for submissions. There is no reading fee. For more information or questions, email hello@lvlitnm.org. Enter NRWO in the subject line.
